With this play we want to illuminate the synergies between research and stage storytelling. The play portrays the Finnish circus community, a realm open to foreign workers, national minorities and other marginal groups in a society characterized by homogeneity in the 1930s and 1940s. With this interdisciplinary project we will provide a counter narrative to historical views based on the notion of monocultural societies.
